Skyguard - Environment FX

Some FX work on the BYU capstone game, Skyguard!
Most effects (not posted here) were done by our awesome FX lead, Mackenzie von Pingel! See her work here!

The game takes place on a small fleet of 3 steampunk airships, which the players have to defend from onslaughts of grungy robots.
I created a few additional effects to help out, and I learned Niagara from our wonderful FX lead.

Animated paper fluttering in the wind paired with foliage instanced paper piles.

Barnacle and crater decals I created. The embers are animated and pair well with a smoldering crater FX often used with it.

Smoldering crater FX paired with the animated crater decals, mostly used where the robots land from their dropships!

Ships flying by in the distance! The ships mesh were made by our environment art lead Matthew Hunter!

I created a few simple "drop in" FX for the robots, as well as a simple roll FX for the player.
